✨ Eedi got a summer makeover: New look, same great pedagogy!

Learn about our navigation update and new features

Updated over 2 weeks ago

We’ve made some exciting updates based on your feedback to make it easier for you to manage your teaching. While the pedagogy remains the same, we’ve revamped the navigation to give you quick access to the tools you need. Here’s a rundown of the new features:

1. New navigation tabs: Plan, Check & Fix

Plan

In this new section, you can set your assignments in a calendar view, giving you a clear visual of your upcoming work. It helps you stay organised and plan ahead for your lessons.

Don’t miss the ‘Calendar’ tab to view assignments more visually for the month.

Check

Here, you can review student work, identify class trends, and make quick decisions on who might need extra support. It’s your one-stop shop for checking results and helping students who may be falling behind.

Fix

This is where all remaining misconceptions across assignments and students are compiled. It’s your opportunity to mop up any misconceptions that Eedi couldn’t fix, ensuring that every student gets the support they need.

2. Retrieval practice now in assignment settings

You can now set retrieval practice in the Settings Tab > Assignment Settings. In this section, you can choose the frequency and start date for retrieval practice, which will appear across all student accounts.

Why is retrieval practice so powerful on Eedi?

Retrieval practice helps students retain knowledge by revisiting key concepts before they forget them. Here’s how it works:

  1. Eligibility: Students must have answered at least 7 questions from assigned quizzes.

  2. Personalised Quizzes: Eedi automatically selects 7 questions for each student to practice, based on their own quiz history:

    • 4 questions they got wrong

    • 3 questions they got right

  3. How we choose questions:

Eedi looks at how long ago the quizzes were completed and how well the student did. Older or incorrectly answered quizzes are prioritised, based on the Ebbinghaus forgetting curve.

Key points:

  • Every student gets a personalised retrieval quiz - saving you time and effort.

  • Only questions from assigned quizzes are used.

  • Retrieval practice stays within the same topic.

  • The more quizzes you assign, the better retrieval works!

It’s simple: Eedi takes care of the hard work so your students can focus on what they need to remember most.

3. Set assignments for multiple classes at once

Setting assignments for multiple classes is now easier than ever! Here’s how:

  1. Choose your assignment.

  2. Instead of clicking 'Set Assignment' right away, click the three dots in the top-right corner.

  3. Select 'Set to Multiple Classes/Subgroups.'

From here, you can choose as many classes as you like and set the same assignment for all of them at once. This makes it much easier to manage multiple classes and save time.
