What is Retrieval practice?
Retrieval Practice is all about reinforcing what your students have learned. It's a powerful technique that involves recalling information from memory, which has been proven to boost long-term retention. Think of it as a mini maths workout for your brain!
A message from Craig:
Did you know that retrieval practice is most powerful once students have started to forget? But there is a sweet-spot, too long before the retrieval and the memory may be inaccessible. We have worked hard to create a spacing algorithm that re-surfaces questions at the perfect moment for your students
How Does It Work?
You can enable retrieval practice quizzes for your classes and schedule how often you'd like them to be set - either weekly, fortnightly, or monthly. Eedi will then automatically assign the quizzes for you based on your preferences.
These quizzes are made up of 7 questions that your students have already answered in previous assignments, including a mix of questions they have gotten correct and incorrect.
Your students' results will update automatically on your account. As they start to answer questions in their quiz, you'll see the question they were given, the answer they gave, and the written answer explanation that was shared with them.
The results allow you to see which areas your students may need to revisit, in particular, those with unresolved misconceptions.
How do I set Retrieval Practice quizzes for my class?
Before you can set up Retrieval practice quizzes for your class, they must have 3 assignments already completed. This is so that we can generate questions for each student's personalised retrieval quiz.

Viewing your student's Retrieval results
Results of Retrieval quizzes can be found on your "Check" page.
When viewing the results of a quiz, you can click on an answer to see which question was given, the answer explanations we share with students, as well as which students answered that same question.
Keep in mind: Retrieval quizzes are tailored to each student. This means some students may see the same question, while others may be given a different one.
