Eediโs Question of the Day gives each student a quick, tailored challenge to keep their maths practice regular. It helps them build a daily habit, grow in confidence, and make steady progress without feeling overwhelmed.
Craig's experience:
"We have discussed previously how you can set tasks for your students to complete on Eedi (read here), or your students can learn independently at any time on Eedi (read here). But if students are only doing this once or twice a week, then there is a danger it does not become a habit, and before you know it the competition ratio has fallen. That is where Question of the Day comes into play."
How Eedi helps
Each day your students log on, they will be presented with the Question of the Day*. This question is individual to each student, based on the topics they have covered so far and pitched to offer the right level of challenge to make students think hard but also feel successful.
โ
โ* New students must have completed two quizzes on Eedi for the QOTD feature to become available.
Students answer the question as they would a regular multiple-choice diagnostic question. If they struggle, they receive bespoke feedback based on their choice of the wrong answer, together with the opportunity to take a lesson based on the area of maths the questions assess to secure their knowledge.
โ
Each time students answer the Question of the Day, they are rewarded with coins which can be exchanged in the virtual Eedi Shop for exciting things such as items for their personalised avatar or new backgrounds. The idea is to help encourage them to do a little bit of maths every day ๐ช
